can trade stocks (US and Canadian
markets) and options through one account
and one software platform.
Can I day
trade and what is a day trade?
Yes, you can day trade. However, according to
SEC and
FINRA rules
that apply to all US brokers, you
must maintain a balance above
$25,000 at all times to engage in
pattern day trading of stocks and
options.
A day trade is defined as a buy and sell of the
same stock on the same day. If you
hold a position for at least 1
overnight and sell it any future
date, then that is not a day trade.
Stock Certificates:
Do you accept the deposit of stock certificates?
Yes, but only for stocks trading above $0.10 per share.
When depositing OTC-BB, Pink Sheet or unregistered physical
stock certificates or DWACs, you will be required to fill out a
DSR Questionnaire. You will also need to provide supporting
documentation proving how you obtained the securities. We can
only accept OTC-BB and Pink Sheet certificates or DWACs for U.S.
clients, we cannot accept them for foreign clients.
